PROFILE

Dr.Venkat Ramaswamy is an Assistant Professor at BITS Hyderabad. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. He was also an independent Simons Fellow at the National Centre for Biological Sciences - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Bangalore, following which he has been at BITS. Venkat's research is in Theoretical & Computational Neuroscience and more recently in building a theoretical understanding of the principles that govern Deep Learning. In 2020, Venkat was named a Grass Fellow, one of 9 young investigators named so, globally, that year.
